Warsaw Short City Tour
From 80 EUR / 87 USD
The Warsaw City Center. Warsaw is the capital of Poland officially only since the beginning of the twentieth century.
Currently lives there 900,000 women. (The remaining 800,000 men is not so important for the writer).
The tallest building is the Palace of Culture and Science – 231 meters. The narrowest house is a tenement house in the Old Town, with a facade of a width of 1,4 meters.
The widest house is post-Soviet block on the Kiev Street – 508 meters. The longest street is the Pulawska street (12,5 kilometers), and the shortest – Dawna Street (20 meters).
The heaviest statue is the Communist Kosciuszko Infantry Division Memorial – 48 tonnes. The shortest standing – another Communist relic – For those who died in defense of Polish People’s Republic (it stood only 5 years). The highest – obelisk in the cemetery of Soviet Soldiers (35 meters).
Auto-accidents occur in approximately every 10 minutes, and most often they occur on Mondays and Thursdays.
It is not surprising, therefore, that population growth is negative… but this is probably more due to emigration to western Europe.
Warsaw. Cemetery of Soviet soldiers. Near of the city center buried in the area of 20 hectares, more than 20,000 Soviet soldiers who fell in the battle for Warsaw in 1944-1945. At the end of a wide avenue erected a granite obelisk with a red star and the with monuments of soldiers, impersonate heroism and generosity. Currently, the statue is the most often devastated Warsaw monument.
A typical inscription written on pedestals by spray is an English phrase: “Go Home”.
Apart from the illogicality of calling for rational behavior irrational things, many of the inhabitants of Warsaw indicates that a more appropriate place for this kind of act of courage – would be guarded by the police the walls of the embassy.
