Every year, on the 21st day of the month of Adar, Hasids from all over the world come to Lezajsk. They believe that anyone who at least once visits the grave of Tzadik Elimelech will not die in sin. The believers leave on his grave cards with written requests, the so-called kvitelach – which the Tzadik passes directly to God. As for the requests, the reservation is only one – you should not want too much!
Tzadik Elimelech wrote his treatise “Noam Elimelech” (eng. “Elimelech gentleness”), where he placed asterisks over words, which meant unspecified and limited meaning of printed words. Hasidim believe that the stars in the sky are a commentary to the asterisks in Noam Elimelech.
According to the Hasidim, Tzadik Elimelech had a part of Moses’ soul and, as one of 36 righteous people, he supported the existence of the world.
