Krakow and Wadowice Tour – in the footsteps of John Paul II
From 450 EUR / 490 USD
Karol Wojtyla loved hiking in the mountains. In this part of the exhibition, we can see his ski equipment and photos from the expeditions.
During one of the lonely treks in the mountains, Wojtyla met a highlander who – seeing a tired and dirty tourist – asked him who he is.
– A bishop! – said Karol, out of breath.
– If you are a bishop, I am a pop! – the highlander shrugged and went away.
Krakow. Church of St.Florian.
In the Bishop’s Palace, at Franciszkanska Street, there is an apartment in which Pope John Paul II always has stopped during his pilgrimages to Poland.
A crowd of believers waited for him under the window. The Pope spoke jokingly with the waiting people many times. As the time to return to the Vatican was approaching, the Pope said the famous words on where his heart remains:
“If anyone asks – Franciszkańska 3.”
When the Pope was seriously ill and was dying in the Vatican, thousands of Catholics prayed for his health under the same window.
