Majdanek and Sobibór Tour from Warsaw

Majdanek and Sobibór
Private Tour from Warsaw

Discover two of the most important Holocaust memorial sites in eastern Poland on this private full-day journey from Warsaw. Visit Majdanek State Museum and Sobibór Memorial Museum — the site of the prisoners’ uprising of October 1943, one of the most remarkable acts of resistance inside a Nazi extermination camp. A powerful journey through destruction, courage, and remembrance.

Majdanek was a place of mass murder — Sobibór became a place of resistance.

At Majdanek, you will confront the preserved reality of Nazi terror: barracks, gas chambers, crematoria and the traces of one of the largest concentration camps operating in occupied Poland. It was also the site of Aktion Erntefest — the largest single-day massacre of Jews during World War II, when approximately 18,000 people were murdered on 3 November 1943.

Sobibór: A Place of Resistance

At Sobibór, the story takes a different turn. Built purely for extermination under Operation Reinhard, Sobibór became the place of one of the most extraordinary prisoner uprisings of the Holocaust. On 14 October 1943, Jewish prisoners organized a carefully planned revolt, killed several SS officers, and around 300 prisoners escaped — making it one of the very few successful mass escapes from a Nazi death camp.

Your Private Visit to Majdanek and Sobibór Tour

A private, unhurried journey

Majdanek: Aktion Erntefest and the final phase of extermination

Majdanek was one of the largest concentration and extermination camps in occupied Poland. During your visit, you will see original barracks, gas chambers and crematoria, confronting the physical reality of Nazi terror.
This is also where Aktion Erntefest took place on 3 November 1943 — the largest single-day massacre of Jews during World War II.

Sobibór: the camp built only for extermination

Unlike Majdanek, Sobibór was not a labor camp. It was created solely as part of Operation Reinhard — with one purpose: the immediate murder of deported Jews.
More than 170,000 people were killed here before the camp became the site of one of the most extraordinary acts of resistance in Holocaust history.

The Sobibór uprising: courage against impossible odds

On 14 October 1943, prisoners in Sobibór organized a carefully planned uprising, killing several SS officers and opening the way for escape. Around 300 prisoners broke through the camp perimeter — making it one of the very few successful mass escapes from a Nazi extermination camp.
Their courage forced the Germans to close and erase the camp.

Memory, resistance and understanding

This journey connects two different chapters of Holocaust history: Majdanek — the machinery of industrial murder, and Sobibór — the story of human courage and resistance.
Together, these memorial sites offer a deeper understanding of destruction, survival and the fight for dignity in the darkest chapter of World War II.
